On Saturday 25th May 2024, at the SGS Arena in Bristol, Michael Clarke represented Team Jai Dee in the Noble Combat Championship, 77kg, 4 man, Muay Thai tournament. The winner would have to win two fights in one night to be crowned champion…..

FIRST FIGHT: Mike Collyer vs Micheal Clarke

Both fighters threw out early jabs and low kicks to judge the distance, before Collyer put Clarke on the canvas with a well timed sweep. Clarke responded with forward pressure punching Collyer on to the ropes. Both fighters exchanged some good shots and Clarke pushed forward looking for the clinch early on. Looking strong in the early clinch Clarke delivered a couple of knees and a slicing elbow. Collyer fired back with a few shots of his own before being tied up in the clinch again and taking more knees and another elbow from Clarke.

In the 2nd round Clarke pushed forward straight away looking for the clinch. Collyer managed to turn his opponent against the ropes and delivered a right hook, left hook combo knocking Clarke to the canvas and getting him a standing 8 count. Clarke bounced top immediately and looked unaffected by the knock down. When the count was over Collier walked forward looking to land heavy again, but instead was tied up in the clinch and Clarke delivered another set of big knees. Collyer fired back a couple of left hooks before yet again Clarke tied him up and begin to deliver more knees, and more elbows for good measure on the break. Clarkes strength was starting to show now especially in the clinch.

In the 3rd round Clarke was stalking his opponent around the ring and Collyer was starting to look tired. Clarke fired off a few well timed teeps and more knees to the stomach all finding a home, before Collyer was swept to the canvas. Collyer got up and fired back with kicks but Clarke caught it and pulled himself forward landing an elbow and once again taking the clinch. Here he delivered 5 devastating knees knocking Collier to the canvas and earning a standing 8 count. Yet again collyer fired out a kick and yet again Clarke caught it ,pulled himself in, clinched and took the back for a big score. With just 16 secs of the fight left Clarke dropped collier yet again with more brutal knees and earned another standing 8 count.

After three 3 round Micheal Clarke takes a decision win. One down one to go…

SECOND FIGHT: Michael Clarke vs George Lynch

After the initial feeling out process, the fighters tied up and Clarke managed to sweep Lynch who jumped straight back up and landed a couple of well timed shots. After the ref separated them from a non eventful clinch Lych landed a couple of nice combos mixing his punches and kicks up well.

Round two and the fighters take the centre of the ring and exchange a few shot before Clarke initiated the clinch and landed a solid knee. After the break Lynch, again, landed a couple of nice shots before they clinched up and Clarke landed more solid knees. This time Lynch came back with a nice elbow and a couple of his own knees. Clarke was now starting to look stronger and finding the clinch more and more before the bell.

Round three. After an exchange of punches and kicks in the centre of the ring, Clarke backed his opponent up to the ropes and dropped him. Clarke again piled on the pressure, but Lynch flew in with a well timed elbow cutting Clarke. Un-phased Clark immediately wrapped him up in the clinch and delivered a devastating knee to the head, dropping Lynch. He was unable to recover, couldn’t beat the count and Clarke took his 2nd victory of the night stopping Lynch in the third round.
