Nigel is a more senior (in age) member of the team here at Hertford Combat Academy and can be considered homegrown as he started his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu journey right here in April 2017 under Ben Hajir. Nigel is now an almost permanent fixture on the mats and thrives on learning and understanding the concepts of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He also enjoys assisting in the development of his teammates as he understands that as his teammates improve then so will he. Nigel competed at both white & blue belt level and was awarded his purple belt by Ben Hajir and James Cornforth in January 2022.  

Prior to stumbling across Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Nigel boxed for Stevenage ABC, played Sunday league football in the Welwyn Hatfield leagues, rugby for Datchworth RFC and golf at Knebworth GC.
